Are you Looking for Technology Funding through a Grant?
 |
|
You will need to do the following:
- Approach the right people
- At the right time
- With the right proposal that meets all published criteria
- Understand the type of grant you are pursuing
Basic Infrastructure – replace the old stuff you have now
New Initiative – update website with a web portal that allows for on-line interaction
Capacity Building – do billing quicker with technology so more clients can be served with the same staff
- A clearly articulated need – this need should advance your mission, build capacity and be directly related to your work in your community – not appear as overhead or a distraction that will take away from your purpose
- A business case that shows how the grant will produce impact and either save you effort or help raise funds with a return on investment case that shows that there will be substantial positive return to your organization.
- If it costs $10K per quarter to send your paper newsletter and you want to send the newsletter via e-mail and this will reduce your costs by $2,500 per quarter then annually you have $10K to help your clients
- Use terms like increase, reach, reduce or other power verbs that show the funder that you’ve identified the benefits you expect to achieve
- An outline that allows the reader to quickly understand what you will be able to accomplish with their assistance – cover the why, what, who, when and how.
